New series you have to watch

The best new series you need to watch on Netflix 2023

Streaming is TV and film rolled into one: Netflix currently has more than 200 million paying subscribers, so the end of the hype is not far off. In order to keep an eye on which good Netflix series are particularly recommended, we take a look at all the productions and select the best Netflix series for you every month. After all, life is too short to waste time with boring series. Here are some of these new series that you have to watch.

Series of the month on Netflix: Kaleidoscope
A master thief and his gang plan an elaborate $7 billion heist, but betrayal, greed and other threats thwart their plans... Starring Giancarlo Esposito ("Breaking Bad"), Paz Vega and Tati Gabrielle.

Sex Education

ho would have thought that sex education would be one of the most entertaining things the world of sitcoms has to offer? As the son of a commitment-phobic sex therapist (played brilliantly by X-Files star Gillian Anderson), Otis Milburn is well-informed but has some embarrassing issues of his own to deal with. His girlfriend Maeve, meanwhile, devises a plan to make money in the small town with Otis' sexual knowledge.

The Netflix series "Sex Education" manages a highly entertaining mix of nonsense and seriousness and - not least because of the excellent soundtrack - is much more adult than the title might suggest. A series for both teenagers and their parents, and the perfect occasion to talk openly about sex.

The Crown

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II has been on the throne since 1952 and since then has regularly experienced not only private but also politically turbulent times: The series by Peter Morgan, who is also responsible for the Oscar-winning film "The Queen" with Helen Mirren as the Queen, presents the life of the royals as a drama, but without the cheesiness and sometimes with comic aspects. The multi-award-winning series will end after the fifth season: In the final episodes, Imelda Staunton ("Downton Abbey", "Harry Potter") will take on the role of the Queen. Previously Claire Foy played the role in season 1-2, since season 3 Olivia Colman (Oscar for "The Favourite") can be seen as the Queen.

Better Call Saul

Is there a more thankless task than creating a sequel to "Breaking Bad" that satisfies fans and critics alike? Probably not. However, Vince Gilligan has taken on the task and proves in the 6 planned seasons that it is still possible to surpass the cult series. The story of lawyer Jimmy McGill, aka Saul Goodman, is told so tragicomically and in such a unique style that it is hard to understand how this character could have been just a supporting role.

This is definitely one of the new series you have to watch.

You

The series revolves around Joe Goldberg, a New York bookseller who runs Mooney's bookshop. One day a customer named Guinevere Beck enters his shop.

Joe falls in love with her and starts stalking her. To get to her, he doesn't even hesitate to get her boyfriend out of her way. But it doesn't stop there... One of the most watched Netflix series is based on the novel of the same name by Caroline Kepnes. The third season about the sympathetic serial killer, whose accomplice the viewer becomes over the course of the series, will be released on Netflix in 2023.
